What’s in Your Bag—The joy of a New Model
I was recently watching an interview with professional golfer Bryson DeChambeau was talking about the new model of his driver that he was putting in his bag to replace the older model he was currently using. He was visibly excited about some of the features of the new driver and the improved results that he was getting using it on the course. Since he usually uses his driver on 14 out of 18 holes a round, he knew it would have a real impact on his game.
It reminded me of a similar experience that I recently had with an important tool in my bag. I interact with Apple’s digital assistant Siri constantly during every day. It is my primary speech to text tool for creating messages and emails. I also use Siri for communicating commands to all my Apple devices. I also use Siri’s text to speech features to read messages, emails and various other information that I access online through my Apple devices.
So you can imagine my delight when Apple recently upgraded their base software including Siri. I saw a noticeable improvement especially in the speech recognition. This translates into instant improvement in the quality of my messages and emails and the time it takes me to produce them. A couple people that I converse with regularly noticed the improvements in quality and speed of my communications.
Like a golfer with a new driver, I really appreciate the upgrades of tools in my bag especially the ones like Siri that I usr constantly over the course of the day. So take care of the tools in your bag and grab those upgrades as they become available. You’ll see the improvements.
